On today’s episode of I Have a Question For, we asked Sidney Baptista about the marketing avenues he’s been exploring while launching his Performance Streetwear company, PYNRS.

Sidney has turned to SMS, or text messaging, as an alternative to a typical Email marketing campaign.

SMS messaging is a relatively untapped marketing avenue and has a ton of advantages over Email:

  • Higher Open Rates

  • Higher Conversion Rates

  • Cost Effective

  • Mobile Friendly

  • Wide Reach

  • Strengthens Customer Engagement

Sidney goes on to talk about how most people are on their phone, reading every text message they receive and these same people are not checking their Emails nearly as frequently.

He does go on the warn that texting is a very personal form of communication, so companies have to use caution when determining when or how often to use this marketing channel, or risk losing contacts.

It’s definitely something we will see more of in the future and a creative way to inform and connect with your consumers.
